Comfy Care12 and the Rotary Club of Clock Tower Arusha united to raise TZS 800,000 in support of Faraja Young Women Development Organization (Faraja), an NGO dedicated to empowering vulnerable single teen mothers and their children. Many of these mothers have faced the harsh realities of gender-based violence and human trafficking.

Magdalena Massanja, President of the Rotary Club of Clock Tower Arusha and Managing Director of Comfy Care12, along with Trainer Dainness Mollel, led an educational session focused on menstrual health and hygiene. Following the session, Rotary Club members distributed reusable sanitary pads to 30 young mothers, ensuring they had the essential resources needed to maintain both their health and dignity. For many of these mothers, access to proper hygiene products is a significant challenge due to financial constraints.

Managing Director of Faraja, Esther, shared how the organization serves as a safe haven where young mothers and their children can heal and thrive.

"One of our core values is to create a bond between these young mothers and their children, transforming suffering into love and hope for a better future," Esther explained.

“In addition to providing a nurturing environment, Faraja offers vital vocational training programs in cooking, hairdressing, and tailoring. These programs aim to empower the young mothers, helping them achieve financial independence and self-sufficiency. This holistic approach is designed to help them build brighter futures for themselves and their children, creating opportunities for both personal growth and long-term success.

“Faraja also ensures that the children of these young mothers receive the care and attention they need through its Montessori daycare program. This initiative offers a nurturing environment for the children to grow and learn while their mothers attend training or focus on other personal development goals.”

Magdalena Massanja emphasized the power of collaboration in making a lasting impact.

"By raising funds and highlighting the important cause of empowering single mothers, Rotary Club of Clock Tower Arusha and Comfy Care12 are helping to create meaningful change in the community," she said.

"This event is a testament to the potential for positive transformation when organizations and individuals come together for a common cause. Together, we can continue to empower these young women, helping them break the cycle of poverty, violence, and trauma, while building a brighter, more equitable future for all."
